Anthony Parnther is the Music Director of California’s San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra. Parnther also leads the Gateways Music Festival Orchestra, whose members hail from leading orchestras nationwide. Since 2019, Anthony has served as the Artistic Director of Musicians at Play.
Parnther has conducted many of the world’s preeminent artists across multiple genres, including Joshua Bell, Jessye Norman, Lynn Harrell, Jon Batiste, Metro Boomin, Zedd, RY X, Massamba Diop, Rihanna, and John Legend.
Anthony has led most of the major orchestras in North America. Recent guest conducting engagements include the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, National Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Pittsburgh Symphony, Los Angeles Opera, St Louis Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Nashville Symphony, Sydney Symphony, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Music Academy of the West, and the Chineke! Orchestra, with which Parnther recently made his BBC Proms debut in London.
Later this season, Anthony will appear with the Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony at Ravinia Festival, Grant Park Music Festival, San Diego Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, and Detroit Opera, among others.
As one of today’s foremost film conductors, Parnther helms recording sessions for many of the world’s top international feature films and television series. Recent projects include the 2024 Oscar winner Oppenheimer, Avatar: The Way of Water, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Star Wars: The Mandalorian, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and Grammy-winning Encanto.
